If I was some tech-illiterate manager for such a product I could definitely imagine being naïve enough to look at the problems with existing moderation systems, then look at the promises being made by shiny new AI companies and choose that without realizing the implications.

A decent alt-tech platform was never going to come with Trump branding. Even if Trump really stood up for free speech (which I'm certainly not convinced of) it would always be too much of a target for the glowies.
