At some point, eventually, in my dreams, the average consoomer will realize "this is entirely voluntary, but if you don't you're going to be fined, beaten, imprisoned, drawn-and-quartered, then the remains fed to pigs" might not actually be a "voluntary" process.

They're so attached to the word voluntary, because if it is mandatory it violates the geneva conventions, but they've stretched that word beyond its limits.
