Instead, parliament voted for a budget drawn-up by the opposition which includes the anti-immigrant far right.

At least one person who thinks there should be any limits whatsoever on immigration also voted in support for the budget, therefore nazis.

Her coalition partner, the Greens Party said it could not accept a budget "drafted for the first time with the far-right".

Allowing these literal nazis (see above) to have any voice in politics ever is unacceptable. Note that this is WITH the "far right", not BY the "far right". The thing this woman is ultimately resigning over is that a political party she hates wasn't totally ignored at all times.

A hundred years after Swedish women were given the vote, the 54-year-old Social Democrat leader was given a standing ovation by sections of the parliament, or Riksdag.

Congratulations to this woman for the remarkable accomplishment of owning a vagina. Truly we should all clap.

If there's another prime ministerial vote, Ms Andersson will probably get voted in again.

So her resignation basically doesn't matter and was entirely a publicity stunt because the Green party got upset that the "far right" got anything even slightly done it's way even once.

I just want to also draw attention to the phrase "far right". It's used because it's easy to defend it's literal meaning- "far" is a relative term, so it basically includes half the planet- but it evokes the imagery of fascists and nazis. So you get to call your opponents nazis without having to ever have to defend yourself. "Alt right" is basically the same thing, except even more vaguely defined. This is probably obvious to anyone who stops and thinks about it, but it's worth stating explicitly.

> We believe in democracy!

> Also this segment of population are extremist bigots who should have no say in democracy.

but it evokes the imagery of fascists and nazis

it shouldn't, since they're both socialist ideologies.

If she gets voted in again, a majority needs to say yes. The fact that she came in at all was because of a technicality reversing the vote so that a majority must say no. 49.7% voted no to Magdalena as the new PM, only 33% voted yes.

She could try again, but she won't get majority support. And even if she does, she'll have to rule with the environmentalist party as opposition, meaning the environmentalists can stop many of the governments bills from ever happening.

This is one of the reasons the left is falling rapidly in Sweden for every election, people are sick of the BS, and "the right" (if you can call them that) simply avoid going down that trap and behave like adults. Which is actually impressive as the fake news moderators in debates always encourage the left to cry nazi or reeeeysist, they want the opposition to take the bait and sink to the same childish level as them.

So, if you vote far right, the communists will literally quit the government?

Well, ok then!

Magdalena Andersson, was announced as leader on Wednesday but resigned after her coalition partner quit the government and her budget failed to pass. Instead, parliament voted for a budget drawn-up by the opposition which includes the anti-immigrant far right."I have told the speaker that I wish to resign," Ms Andersson told reporters. Her coalition partner, the Greens Party said it could not accept a budget "drafted for the first time with the far-right". --- Women pouting when she doesn't get her way. The author of that article looks a lot like Elizabeth Holmes in a way, kind of spooky.

Women are children and should hold no positions of power in government or business.

Giving women the vote has fucked up every western country.

Woman faces responsibilities when placed in position of authority, immediately resigns. She's only here to tell people what to do, not work.

Guess she got a look at the actual work she'd be expected to do rather than attending cocktail parties around the world on private jets.

She resigned because they had to vote for a law against anti-rapist invasion.

These bitches are evil as fuck... Sweden was one of the most safest places in the world, then the sand rapists started to invade... and women and children couldn't walk alone anymore in less than 10 years on their own country, and i saw news of the goberment about executions of entire families and everything.

These bastards really want to get their own people to keep being raped and murder until extinction.

Pure evil.

did she suddenly realize that she might have a bit of accountability for results?

AntonioOfVenice 5 points ago +6 / -1

Unlikely.

Accountability? For politicians? Don't be silly.

There used to be accountability in Sweden, until removed by Olof Palme. Karma always finds a way tho so he got shot.

Well, good news is, that's now out of the way for them, so there's no need to crow about "first feee-male in (arbitrary location)" for them now, they're allowed to elect based on merit without that concern.

Maybe it's good that he's not seeing it. I think he might overdose on pleasure.

Of the 349 members of the Riksdag, 174 voted against her. But on top of the 117 MPs who backed Ms Andersson, a further 57 abstained, giving her victory by a single vote.

What a fucking retarded system of government where this can happen.
