It sends a message to him and to those who may think of voting Conservative so they will be scared and go back to the Never Trump camp which then is Biden by default! I voted for Trump but the fact remains his personality turns a lot of people off. Also I think the media will grab onto stories and certain stories always get attention during election year.

His personality has nothing to do with it. The right voted for him because they understand the concept of duty, Trump does not. He was in control of the situation, there were millions of people ready to do what ever he told them to, but he never once actually told them to do something useful. He could have them storm the Atlanta convention center and seize the fabricated ballots, like the Battle of Athens, but he did nothing. The closest he ever got was 1/6, where he lead he troops to the Rubicon and started crossing, then he stopped half way, and when his troops reached the other side he said "NO you can't do that", and hung them out to dry. Trump defeated Trump, because he had no thought of courage or duty.
The left plays for keeps. Trump didn't understand this. Like a business man, he thinks because he has the title, people will just do what their told. In government, there is no accountability.
He flubbed on using the insurrection act against Antifa burning down urban centers. He gave speeches about, but ultimately punted, on upcoming election fraud. He boasted about rebuilding the military but did not shake out communists from under his command. He turned his back on the Jan 6th protesters. Considering how much we know about how the election was stolen, Trump, with access to far more information than we do, left the White House and turned over the keys to someone he knew was compromised by a foreign power.
