We are living in a post-truth society, and it is destroying the ability of those who engage with it to think. This can only be continued for so long before a complete collapse of the system, either due to insufficient continued support from the remaining thinking men, or "success" resulting in the complete inability of anyone outside the elite to make the correct decisions, resulting in the inevitable economic collapse of the resulting strict command economy as those still able to make decisions are unable to assimilate enough information to make those decisions accurately. AI won't save them from the reality that distributed price determination (free exchange, free association, and free speech) is the only viable method to support an advanced economy. Anything else results in a severe information deficit compounded by a complete inability to process what information is available to direct the economy.
