Who the fuck cares?!? Really? Is it any surprise at this point? Do you still get incensed about it? I don't. It's par for the course demoralization. We all know the man Bond was written to be, a woke British intelligence agent is not it.
Now, go watch a real Bond movie, Never Say Never Again.
No. I just really like it and it's not the typical answer of Thunderball or Goldfinger. While those are excellent movies, Never Say Never Again is the last Connery Bond film.
Honestly, I had long forgotten that it was produced outside of Broccoli's control.
What I would consider "real" Bond films are anything Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Christopher Dalton and Daniel Craig's 1st Bond movie.
I only include Moore because while his Bond films were more comedic and his Bond character was a little softer than Connery the films were still well within the masculine era of films. And he wasn't a bad Bond. His films were entertaining. As much as I wanted to see Pierce Brosnan as Bond, the gimmicks ruined it for me. Craig's films are disappointing because they're more of less chronicling Bond decent into political correctness with ever increasing emphasis on Bond's subservience to feminism.
That's my fairly liberal interpretation of Bond movies. Now, if you really wanted a stricter interpretation of what I consider the real Bonds it would be Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton.
I don't think Dalton resonated with audiences coming after Moore. Moore was a hard act to beat and I think audiences came to like the nice guy Bond, campy humor and really cheesy one liners.
Dalton, to me, did come across as an dick, thoughtful at times, sure, but a dick nonetheless. His tone, his attitude and sometimes his aggressiveness towards his female side kicks. It's nice to find someone else who also liked Dalton. He's a underrated Bond, IMO.
