In a socialist/commie government, the people come second to the party. This is what giving the state absolute power looks like. This is what these same communists are fighting for. There's a very real reason why it's never worked before throughout all of history, and they're getting a very clear lesson in that.
Although, I'd suspect that it will be completely lost on them honestly.
When I've mentioned to people I've know who support socialism/communism, that it's completely reliant on those in power — because they will always exist — being genuinely good people who truly want what's in the best interest of everyone, it seems that they never quite seem to grasp why that's necessary. Even though it's also one of the primary contributors to communism's perpetual failure.
What these types of people are actually looking for, ironically enough, is exactly what the United States was founded upon — a small government, where communities take care of the needs of their community.
One of the biggest reasons we've gotten so far away from that, is literally because of people like them always trying to get the Government to regulate things or step into every facet of people's lives.

They're terrified of giving people the ability to make their own choices, in case they make the wrong choice. And so they will inevitably set on the course of totalitarianism because if you assume everybody to be a drooling idiot, what other course have you got, and then express great surprise when a shitbag ascends to power, because we were only offering a job with total control over an entire population, who would have thought that would be popular with the "shitbag" demographic?
And now, the intellectual Marxists/champaign socialists find out what really happens to the revolutionaries under an authoritarian government.
See you in the camps commie. We all burn the same.
