That's consistent with my personal experience in my family. Old (particularly old and unhealthy), it's totally brutal on. Young, in 100% of cases I've had personal experience with, it's a very mild cold.
That's why I'd actually encourage the 65+ crowd to get the vaccine. I think young people should avoid it forever or until there's been better test cases. A 70 year old doesn't care about fertility and things that are unknowns either. If a octo-masker young leftist wants it, I don't care let them have it, but don't push it on everyone.
I first noticed in the stats how heavily it hit the old people in the early summer last year. Despite not being a statistician or anything. I think if we'd just gone back to normal with some very heavy cautions for how to deal with the elderly for a while, we'd have been a lot better off.
i swear i must have caught it around when all the lockdown malarky first started here in 1984 land
I had two instances of a bad cold/flu (kinda back to back) that i pretty much just mildly suffered through and I have not really taken any precautions against catching it
for example I don't bother with the anti bacterial gunge and the "mask" i wear is just a streachy tube scarf thing that is probably less effective than a mask (that has little efficacy anyway) its just to ward off the crazies that demand a mask
and I have yet to go down with anything like a flu all year
